Privacy Policy

What this policy covers
This policy explains how Norget handles information when you use our website, browser extension, bookmark tools, connected-account sync, semantic search, memory tree, and AI chat. We collect and use data only to operate, secure, and improve those features.
Information we collect
- Account information: the email address you use to create and access your account.
- Saved bookmarks: the URL, title, page metadata, and page text extracted for reading and AI processing, together with the notes, categories, and collections you create.
- Connected accounts: if you choose to connect Twitter or Instagram, we receive the account information and OAuth tokens needed to sync the content you ask Norget to save.
- Usage metadata: basic feature interactions, timestamps, and technical logs needed to run, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
How we use your information
We use your information to authenticate your account; save, sync, organize, and search your bookmarks; create summaries, categories, and embeddings; answer questions in AI chat; show connections in the memory tree; maintain security; and diagnose service problems.
Storage and service providers
Norget uses Supabase for database storage and account authentication. Saved bookmark content and your AI chat questions are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI is used to generate embeddings, summaries, categories, and chat answers. These providers process data on Norget's behalf to deliver the service.
Security and encryption
Norget encrypts stored data at rest. OAuth tokens for connected accounts receive additional protection: they are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using per-user derived keys. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Browser extension access
When you save a page with the Norget browser extension, it reads that tab's address, title, metadata and the readable text of the page, and sends them to your Norget account. The text is stored, because storing it is what lets Norget answer questions about what you have read and quote the passage it answered from. Long pages are kept up to a length limit rather than in full.
On X and Instagram the extension also runs when those sites load, so that it can add a save button next to posts. It sends nothing to Norget until you click that button. On Instagram, saving a post may fetch it using the session you are already signed into, so the caption can be read.
It does not record your browsing history, and pages you do not save are never sent anywhere. Norget does not sell this data or share it for advertising.
No sale of personal data or advertising trackers
Norget does not sell personal data. We do not use advertising trackers or build advertising profiles from your bookmarks, searches, connected accounts, or extension activity.
Your choices and rights
You may request an export of your Norget data or ask us to delete your account and associated data. To make either request, email support@norget.io. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account owner.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Norget changes. We will update the date at the top when we do. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to support@norget.io.
